1. What the watermark is
The watermark is a small, text-based credit placed in the footer of websites we design and build. It typically reads along the lines of “Website by Myk Baxter Marketing” and links to our website. It is styled to sit quietly within your existing footer and does not interfere with your branding, navigation or booking journey.
2. Why we use it
- It marks the site as professionally built and maintained
- It helps visitors and other operators find the team behind the work
- It supports the discounted and PALI member pricing we are able to offer
3. Performance, privacy and accessibility
The watermark is plain text and a link. It sets no cookies, loads no third-party scripts, collects no visitor data and has no measurable effect on page speed or Core Web Vitals. It is included in the accessible reading order of the page and meets the same contrast standards as the rest of your footer.
4. Where it appears
The watermark appears once in the site footer, so it is present on every page. It is not added to emails, booking confirmations, adverts, social posts or printed material.
5. Removing the watermark
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the watermark remains in place for the lifetime of the site. You may not remove, hide, obscure or alter it without our written permission. Removal can be requested at any time and may incur a one-off fee, which reflects the discount applied to the original project. Once removal is agreed and paid for, we remove it ourselves so that nothing else in the footer is affected.
6. Bespoke and enterprise agreements
Where a project is quoted at full commercial rates, or where a brand, franchise or group agreement requires it, the watermark can be excluded at the outset. Please raise this before the project is approved so it can be reflected in your proposal.
7. Portfolio use
Separately from the watermark, MBM may reference completed work in our portfolio and marketing as set out in our Terms & Conditions. You can ask us not to do this in writing.
